Pep Guardiola has confirmed a number of youth players will travel with the senior squad for Tuesday’s match against RB Leipzig

The Manchester City boss is expected to make a number of changes with the side already through to the knockout stages as group winners.

Cole Palmer and James McAtee are among those in line to feature, though Guardiola insists he will still pick a strong team good enough to claim victory.

“They are 18 or 19 and have everything ahead of them. They are fantastic young players. They need to settle but the potential is there,” said Guardiola.

“Of course all the guys who play tomorrow want to win, for respect for Leipzig, and respect for Brugge and PSG. .

“The most important thing is the first team. It’s good for them to see how you behave. Hopefully tomorrow some of them can play – we have five subs, not three like here in Europe, so maybe we can use them.”
