Atletico Madrid has given a second chance to Antoine Griezman after seeing off his loan spell from Barcelona.

The Frenchman scored 8 goals and 7 assists in his 39 appearances.

Though his stay was marred by injuries, yet Diego Simeone and the hierarchy at the club believes he has a lot to contribute.

Now, Los Rojiblancos have officially asked Barcelona to extend his loan for a second season, as per Marca.

A news that will be well accepted by Barcelona.

The report continued to state that Atletico Madrid will now have to purchase Griezmann for a fee €40m at the end of the loan, provided he plays 50% of the matches he was available for over the two seasons.

Although many will see it as no business investing in a 31-year- old, but if well manage he can contribute to the growth of the club.
