Thomas Tuchel revealed in post match conference after Chelsea’s 1-0 win over West Ham United on Sunday that defenderAntonio Rudiger will be leaving the club at the expiration of his contract. Possibly June 30.

The Blues have tried their possible best to get the German international to renew his deal, but the sanctions imposed on the club by the UK government has led him to decide that his future lies away from Stamford Bridge.

“The situation is that he wants to leave the club. He informed me of this is in a private talk,” Tuchel said when asked about Rudiger.

“We gave everything – me and the club – but we could not fight anymore because of the actions.

“Without the sanctions we would at least be able to carry on fighting, but our hands are tied. We don’t take it personally. It is his decision.”
