Gavi’s recent display has made Xavi Hernandez place his confidence in the 17-year-old, whose contract with Barcelona runs until June 30, 2023.
The player is yet to pen a contract extension with the catalans even if the Spain international is willing to stay put.
However with the recent visit of Gavi‘s agent Ivan de la Pena to Real Madrid‘s offices in Valdebebas a few days ago triggered rumours about potential Los Blancos interest in the Barcelona midfielder.
Marca reported that “De la Pena went to Valdebebas to negotiate the contract renewal of Real Madrid B midfielder Marc Cucalon.
Gavi has previously turned down Real Madrid to sign for Barcelona, while something similar happened with his teammate Nico Gonzalez, who made clear that he wants to play for Barcelona when Los Blancos came knocking.”
