Chelsea and Liverpool fans were seen with banners showcasing “no war in Ukraine” as the players sent a message to the world at Wembley Stadium ahead of the Carabao Cup final.
As a result of the war between Russia and Ukraine, the captains of both teams, Cesar Azpilicueta and Jordan Henderson came out onto the pitch along with the officials with a message
“Football stands together,” read the sign.
The message was also projected onto the big screen at Wembley where numerous Ukrainian flags could be seen among the fans in the stands.
