Jurgen Klopp will miss the Reds trip to Stanford Bridge on January 2, after returning a suspected positive test for Covid-19.
The Liverpool manager will isolate himself as he is showing mild symptoms. His Assistant Pep Lijnders will take over for the match with the Blues.
In a statement released by Liverpool, the reds tested all the squad and revealed that they had no further positive test in the playing squad aside the three confirmed by Klopp on Friday.
The Manager speaking said:
‘We have three new Covid cases in the team, more in the staff.
‘I’m not able to say (who has tested positive) because we still need to do a PCR but you’ll see tomorrow on the team sheet, it’ll be clear.’
Should the positive test be confirmed, then Klopp will miss the midweek League Cup semi-finals away to Arsenal.
