Simeone‘s Atleti and Pep Guardiola‘s City battles for a place in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, and the Argentine believes that anyone can advance in a two-legged tie.
“We all have pressure, but I think it is a matter of responsibility. I have no doubt that City have extraordinary players, maybe they have better players than us, but it’s just two games,” Simeone said during Monday’s pre-match press conference.
“City and Bayern [Munich] might have a better chance [of going all the way], but last season Chelsea were the winners.”
Atletico Madrid eliminated Manchester United in round of 16, but the Argentine recognises that City are a different beast altogether.
“United had different characteristics to City. City are more positional and dominate everywhere,” the Argentine stated.
“We need to build on and improve everything we did a fortnight ago.” He told Marca.
