Celta Vigo put up a wonderful display against Real Madrid at Balaidos but lost after conceding three penalties.
Karim Benzema scored two of the penalties, and that was enough for Los Blanco to win 2-1.
There were no controversy as regards the award of the spot kicks. However, Celta were left furious by the decision-making of referee Gonzalez.
Celta star Aspas spoke to the Movistar cameras after he match and was outraged, slamming the referee.
“He only needed the whistle for the fourth penalty to take it himself,” said the veteran striker.
“It seems like a Benzema hat-trick is what he wanted and what he looked for.”
Strong words from Aspas who believes that if not for the penalties, the results would have been in there favour.
