During the just concluded 2022 Oscars awards, Will Smith got up from his seat and slapped Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke about Will’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith while Will watched from the front row. After, Will confronted Chris onstage and told him, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f–king mouth!”
After the incidence, the organizers of the prestigious award, the Academy took to social media to address the incident. “The Academy does not condone violence of any form,” the Twitter statement, posted early March 28, read. “Tonight we are delighted to celebrate our 94th Academy Awards winners, who deserve this moment of recognition from their peers and movie lovers around the world.”
