The Federal Prosecutor Giuseppe Chinè of FIGC has set up a panel to investigate the racist chants heard at the end of Milan’s win over Cagliari yesterday. According to Football Italia.
Football Italia reported that Goalkeeper Mike Maignan and defender Fikayo Tomori were racially abused by a section of the Cagliari fans following the full time whistle of the 1-0 victory at the Unipol Domus last night. The Frenchman cupped his hand to his ear, mocking the fans and urging them to continue, which then led to a brawl with the Rossoblu players.
As reported by ANSA, Chinè and the FIGC have opened an investigation in relation to the racist chants heard during Cagliari-Milan and what happened when the teams returned to the dressing rooms after the match.
CCTV footage will be used to try and identify the culprits and the FIGC are already in talks with Cagliari to try and resolve the problem.
This is not the first time that the Sardinian side have been involved in a racism scandal, as some of their fans previously hurled racist abuse at both Juventus’ Moise Kean and Romelu Lukaku during his time at Inter.
