Barcelona President Joan Laporta, is now self-isolating after testing positive for COVID-19, having been in close contact with Ferran Torres, who also returned a positive test, during his presentation at the New Camp on Monday.
Laporta was to be present for the club’s Copa del Rey match away at Linares and LaLiga Santander tie against Granada at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes.
The President is asymptomatic, and he tested positive for antigens and positive in the PCR test. The sporting vice-president, Rafa Yuste, tested negative but will not travel to Linares as a precaution.
Marca reported that as part of the COVID-19 protocols, Laporta will have to now quarantine and then return a negative test if he is to be able to travel to Saudi Arabia for the Supercopa de Espana, with Barcelona‘s semi-final tie against Real Madrid set to take place on January 12.
