Mauricio Pochettino, coach of Paris Saint-Germain spoke during the pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s Ligue 1 clash with Clermont Foot and hinted that he is likely to give the captain’s armband to Kylian Mbappe.
The absence of captain Marquinhos due to injury has mean the Frenchman could be given the chance to lead PSG at the weekend.
“I consider Kylian, as well as other players, as a possible captain of this team,” Pochettino declared.
“We want the best for him and for the club, and the best thing is for him to stay. Both myself and the club are thinking about it, but then there are negotiations that have to be completed.”
Argentine coach gave Neymar a vote of confidence ahead of the Clermont Foot clash.
“The club signed him for his quality,” Pochettino added.
“He had an injury in his best moment, before the Real Madrid game. He has worked hard and I have no doubt that he will continue to show his quality.”
