Everton are considering to interview Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney for the club’s manager’s job.

The Toffees sacked Rafa Benitez after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Norwich, with the Spaniard staying for just six-and-a-half months at the club.

Derby County boss Wayne Rooney is obviously happy and focused at Pride Park, but would find it difficult to turn Everton down.

Former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, has not been attached to any club since  Chelsea sacked him in January last year.

Other shortlisted candidates for the job includes the two former England internationals, alongside Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez and Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked by Tottenham earlier this season.

Though Martinez, the former Everton boss, is the most preferred candidate for the job and would be keen to return to Goodison Park, but to strike a deal is hampered by the Belgium FA who do not want to let the Spaniard leave before the 2022 World Cup.

Duncan Ferguson will be in-charge of training until an agreement is reached with a new coach.
