Kylian Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe is reportedly considering staying at PSG as he enters negotiations with the club over contract extension.

The PSG forward had considered leaving the club as his current contract expires this summer to seal a free move to Real Madrid.

Reports had it that he pushed for departure last summer, but the Paris Club are determined to keep him as they reportedly turned down a £134million bid from Real.

They later increased his released clause to £175million, to discourage Real Madrid from making another offer.

Mbappe, as at this January, is free to negotiate with clubs for a possible transfer in the summer, however The Telegraph are reporting that he could be set to pen an extension at PSG.

He scored 18 goals in 26 appearances for PSG sthis season, recently reopened contract negotiations with Parc des Princes chiefs and is open to the idea of staying at the France capital.

Sporting director Leonardo insists Mbappe had ‘always promised that he would never leave for free’ and, even if he puts pen to paper on that new deal, Real could still come back in with another offer.

Mbappe will be visiting Madrid when PSG meet Real in the last 16 of the Champions League next month, with the first leg to come in Paris on February 15.
